Debuting two years ago at the New York Auto Show, the G70 is as fresh as a daisy, but now Genesis has completely overhauled the G70’s looks for 2022—so much so, that we’ll forgive you for thinking it’s an all-new G70.
The 2022 Genesis G70 represents a heavy cosmetic refresh of the same sedan that’s been on sale for years. Resting front and center is the new crest grille first seen on the G80, G90, and GV80 SUV. But on the 2022 G70, the grille is set lower than the new quad headlights.
The front fenders appear to have taken on a more sculptural aesthetic, while a new little vent lives just behind each front wheel and picks up on an existing chamfer in the G70’s side doors.
The G70’s cabin looks quite the same as before, though it hides one big improvement: a new display with a wider-format 10.3-inch screen running fresh software!
The 2022 G70’s design is the only new feature that we have news about so far since they have yet to reveal mechanical details for the revised model, nevertheless, Genesis said that more hints on the new G70 will be released in weeks. We are excited to see what happens beneath that hood!
The updated G70 is expected to go on sale in South Korea in October before making its way to other countries. Considering the current G70 exists as a 2021 model in the US, the new G70 will show up wearing a 2022 designation, meaning it should arrive sometime early next year.
